My mountain career began shortly after I moved to British Columbia in 2009. I began exploring the local mountain on foot, hiking classic trails such as the Stawamus Chief, Panorama Ridge, Black Tusk and Joffre Lakes. A few years later, a move to Squamish opened the doors to rock climbing, backcountry skiing, mountain running and alpinism. For me, mountain adventures are as much about the inner journey - facing my fears and expanding my limits - as they are about exploring the alpine environment.

Community and Volunteering

The sense of community I have developed through my alpine pursuits in incredible. Through the Alpine Club of Canada's Vancouver Section I was able to develop a solid foundation of skills and connect with future partners through courses such as intro to backcountry skiing, ski touring and glacier travel, intro to trad climbing and the intermediate mountaineering course. Today I give back to the club through the Squamish section as a volunteer trip organizer and instructor (taking events online throughout the pandemic) and by managing our peer mentoring/leadership development program.
